Beside announcing the high-end Sony Xperia XZ Premium & Xperia XZs, the Japanese smartphone maker also unveiled two new mid-range smartphones.Building on the success of last year’s XA models, the XA1 and XA1 Ultra feature a beautiful borderless design to make the most of the edge-to-edge screen.
Sony Xperia XA1 Specifications & Features:
The Xperia XA1 has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-Core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage.It has a 23-megapixel rear shooter with Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Hybrid AF and LED flash, while the selfie department is handled by an 8-megapixel front shooter.
As for connectivity, the Xperia XA1 offers 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and microUSB port.It is powered by a 2,300mAh battery with fast charging technology.
Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Specifications & Features:
The bigger Xperia XA1 Ultra, on the other hand, flaunts a 6-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).Inside there’s a MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-Core chip coupled with ARM Mali T880 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage.Unlike the XA1, the XA1 Ultra comes with USB Type-C port.
In the optics department, the smartphone is equipped with the same 23-megapixel primary shooter as on the Xperia XA1, but comes with a bigger 16-megapixel front camera compared to the 8-megapixel sensor on the smaller XA1.It is also backed by a bigger 2,700mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
All the other specifications remain the same as on the smaller sibling.
Both the variants of the smartphone will be offered in White, Black, Gold, & Pink color options.
The XA1 will be available starting April 26 at $299.99 in the USA.As for the XA1 Ultra, Sony didn’t reveal an exact release date or price but said that we can expect the handset sometime in Spring 2017.
