Sony Mobile on Sunday announced its latest flagship smartphones – the Xperia XZ Premium and the Xperia XZs at the MWC 2017, Barcelona.

As the name suggests, the Xperia XZ Premium is the successor to last year’s Xperia Z5 Premium.It has a 5.5-inch 4K HDR (3840 x 2160 pixels) TRILUMINOS Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back.The new Triluminos display on the device has 40% more brightness than its predecessor.Inside there’s Snapdragon’s latest 835 octa-core chip paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.
In the camera department, the Xperia XZ Premium sports a 19-megapixel rear shooter with Exmor RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive capture, 5-axis stabilization, and an impressive 960fps slow-motion video recording, which is four times slower than other smartphones.Up front, there’s 13-megapixel selfie camera with 1/3″ Exmor RS sensor, 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens, and 1080p video recording.
As for connectivity, the smartphone offers 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C port.The handset is IP68 certified and is backed by a 3,230mAh Battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.It runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The Xperia XZ Premium will be available in Luminous Chrome and Deepsea Black color options.Sony hasn’t revealed any pricing or availability details yet.

The Xperia XZs, on the other hand, is the successor to last year’s Xperia XZ.The new smartphone looks almost exactly like the Xperia XZ but differs in terms of specifications.
It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with Dynamic Contrast Enhancer and a 138% sRGB.It is driven by a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB expandable storage.Above the screen lies a 13-megapixel selfie shooter with 1/3” Exmor RS sensor, 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens; and around the back sits a 19-megapixel primary camera with Exmor RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive capture, 5-axis stabilization and 960fps slow-motion video.
In the connectivity department, the Xperia XZs comes with4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C.It is also IP65/68 certified making it dust and water resistance.Powered by a 2,900mAh battery, the smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
Coming to the pricing, the Xperia XZs will start at $699.99 and will hit the shelves on April 5 in the US.It’ll be available in Ice Blue, Warm Silver and Black color options.
