Apple on Friday officially unveiled the new 2016 MacBook Pro lineup at its “Hello Again” event in Cupertino, California.As Rumoured, the new MacBook Pro’s features an OLED touch strip, that Apple calls “Touch Bar”.The new Touch Bar is built-in Retina Multi-Touch display above the keyboard that responds to both taps and gestures. It adapts when using the system or apps like Mail, Finder, Calendar, GarageBand, Final Cut Pro X and much more, including third-party apps like Photoshop etc.For example, the Touch Bar can show Tabs and Favorites in Safari, enable easy access to emoji in Messages, provide a simple way to edit images or scrub through videos in Photos and much more.
The new MacBook Pro also has Touch ID which is integrated into the power button.Once you set up your fingerprint in Touch ID on your MacBook Pro, you can quickly unlock your Mac, switch user accounts and make secure purchases with Apple Pay on the web with a single touch.The new display on the MacBook Pro is 67 percent brighter, has a 67 percent better contrast ratio, and displays 25 percent more colors.Battery life on the new MacBook Pro’s is said to be “up to 10 hours”, which is slightly longer than the old models.
The new MacBook Pro also offers a much larger Force Touch trackpads — 46 percent larger on the 13-inch MacBook Pro and twice as large on the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and a louder, more true-to-life sound through speakers with double the dynamic range and improved bass.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro features a 13.3-inch (2560 x 1600) LED-backlit display with a pixel density of 227ppi.It comes in two configurations – the base model is powered by a 6th gen dual-core i5 processor, while the top variant features Intel Core i7 processor.The notebook also comes with Intel Iris graphics 550, which Apple claims is twice as fast as the last model.The entry model of thr notebook comes with 8GB of RAM (Configurable to 16GB of memory) and 256GB of SSD storage( Configurable to 512GB or 1TB SSD).
In terms of connectivity, the 13-inch MacBook Pro offers Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.2.Apple says the USB-C ports replace power, Thunderbolt, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA ports.The 13-inch MacBook Pro is 14.9mm thin (17 percent thinner than before), has 23 percent less volume and comes in at just 3.02 pounds (1.37 kg).
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,799 for the base model and goes up to $2,899 for the top config model.It is available for pre-order starting today and ships in the next 2-3 weeks.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch, on the other hand, sports a 15.4-inch (2880 x 1800) IPS display.It is powered by a quad-core Intel i7 processor, 2,133Mhz RAM and Radeon Pro (Polaris) graphics, which is 2.3-times faster than before and can hold up to 4GB of video memory.It comes in 256GB/512GB upgradable storage along with 16GB of RAM.
The 15-inch model is 15.5mm thin (14 percent less than before) and has reduced its volume by 20 percent and comes in at just 4.02 pounds (1.83 kg).
The 15-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,399 and can be ordered starting today.
