After officially unveiling the P9 and P9 Plus earlier this month, Huawei has quietly announced another variant in its P9 series, called the P9 Lite.Priced at €299, the P9 Lite will go on sale in Germany next month.
The P9 Lite features the same metallic design as seen on the P9 and P9 Plus but does not come with Leica’s dual camera setup.
Like the Huawei P9, the P9 Lite features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display.Under the hood, is a Huawei-made Kirin 650 octa-core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.It comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.The handset is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
In the camera department, the P9 Lite features a 13-megapixel rear image sensor with an LED flash, while the front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor.In comparison, Huawei P9 and P9 Plus both sport a Leica dual 12MP camera setup.The P9 Lite also features hybrid-SIM card setup, where users can either put two SIM cards, or one SIM card and one memory card.
In terms of connectivity , the Huawei P9 Lite supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n and USB Type-C port.The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top.
The Huawei P9 Lite will be available in Black and Gold colour variants.The smartphone is already available to pre-order in Germany and will go on sale later this month.Unfortunately, there is no word whether the Huawei P9 Lite will be launched in more markets other than Europe.
