Apple today unveiled the 9.7-inch variant of the iPad Pro just after announcing the new iPhone SE. The new iPad Pro looks just like the iPad Air 2 from last year, only thicker. The new iPad Pro has four speakers one at each corner, a fingerprint reader and weighs less than a pound.
Apple claims that the new 9.7-inch (2048X1536 resolution) iPad Pro has the brightest display on the market and is 40% less reflective than iPad Air 2 that is the lowest reflectivity of any tablet screen. The new Pro also features a new technology called “True Tone Display”, which measures the color temperature of ambient light and adjusts the display to match. The new iPad Pro also takes advantage of iOS 9.3’s new blue-light reduction feature for late-night use.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro very much similar to its larger variant announced last year. Just like the larger variant the new iPad Pro is powered by the Apples A9X processor and has a similar four-speaker system that Apple proclaims to be twice as loud as the Air 2. The new iPad Pro also has Smart Keyboard support and is compatible with the Apple Pencil.
Taking photos on the new iPad Pro is going to be pretty awesome. It has a 12MP shooter in the rear, complete with focus pixels, dual-tone flash, and Live Photos. Taking selfies in the dark is not going to be a problem anymore as the new iPad Pro offers the screen flash introduced on the iPhone last year.
The new iPad Pro will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB variants. The 32GB variant is priced at $ 599 (~Rs 39,800), 128GB variant is priced at $749 (~Rs 49,800), and the 256GB variant is priced at $899 (~Rs 59,800).
The Pre-orders for the new iPad Pro go live on March 24, and it will go on sale from March 31 onwards.
